1 in 4 families receive documents digitally via Zoomit

New function makes it even easier to receive documents digitally


Leuven, 27 June 2019 – Zoomit, the solution used by individuals to receive invoices and payslips digitally via their bank, is launching a function that will make receiving documents even easier.

Research has shown that users want the process for activating senders – such as energy firms, social secretariats and health insurance funds – to be faster and easier. This is necessary when a user switches supplier, or when a new sender starts working with Zoomit.

Automatic activation

The new function allows new senders to be activated automatically via a one-off consent. This means that the user no longer needs to grant individual consent to every new sender. Zoomit is thus responding to users’ wishes, and as a result of this optimisation is helping to accelerate the digitalisation of Belgian’s personal administration.

Marie Costers, Director of Zoomit: “1 in 4 Belgian families currently use Zoomit. This means that 400,000 fewer documents are being printed per day, saving 250 tonnes of paper and more than 20 million litres of water per year. Increasingly, Belgians are opting for user-friendly and environmentally friendly digital methods for receiving documents and making payments. Our job now is to make Zoomit even more user-friendly and to encourage businesses to send their invoices and other documents digitally.”

Since the start of 2019, more than 100,000 users have already activated the new service. By the end of 2019, Zoomit expects 20% of users to have activated the function.

How to activate

Users can activate the new Zoomit function within their online banking application. The user will still be informed via email of a new sender or a new document, or if an unpaid invoice is nearing its due date.

 Connecting to Zoomit will soon be easier for businesses – the senders – too.
